April 23—Strategy One: Communication

How partners talk and listen to one another is key to their long-term sexual happiness.  Neuroscience now shows that certain forms of conversation can open new pathways to erotic connection and intimacy. This class introduces specific dialogue techniques, which are developed by top experts in couples therapy and based on proven research and brain science.

April 30—Strategy Two: Confrontation

Many sexual relationships fail because they are conflict-avoidant.  This class focuses on innovative confrontation skills, anger management, trauma resolution, and recovery from crisis in intimate relationships-including approaches to help high-affect clients and couples with intense reactivity.

May 7—Strategy Three: Facilitation

Physical injury, sudden illness, and long-term cancer recovery can cause retreat, resentment & guilt  in sexual partnerships. This class looks beyond physical therapy to offer sex therapy techniques and other creative guidelines for helping individuals and couples retrain their unique erotic sensitivities-physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.

May 21—Strategy Four: Negotiation

Affairs, infidelity, open marriage, and other forms of monogamy agreements can challenge the therapist as well as the couples who struggle to define their sexuality.  The focus of this class is on negotiating a vision of a new monogamy, beginning with expanded self-esteem and compassionate understanding, and adding creative techniques that lead to erotic recovery.

May 28—Strategy Five:  Self-Actualization

One of the most challenging scenarios for therapists is when our clients’ issues trigger our own personal traumas-past and present.  This class is about taking care of ourselves by stepping into the vital archetype of the Wounded Healer-calling forth our abilities for empathy, power, and creating healthy boundaries for both ourselves and our clients.

There are many ways to create monogamy in a committed relationship after infidelity, and there are significant differences in the ways that men and women can create the future after an affair. Part two of this course will help participants define the terms of their erotic monogamy and focus on issues around trust, forgiveness, erotic recovery and how to create a long term vision of recovery.

Therapists and other professionals will learn direct interventions for couples and individuals directly applicable in all three phases of affair recovery, post infidelity. Professional participants will also learn how men and women’s treatment interventions differ and how trust and differentiating new monogamy agreements can create a vision of long term commitment and recovery.

What are the unique reasons that men cheat, why is it different than women? Is there such a thing as a mid-life crisis affair? Why do more men seek out sex workers?

Is female infidelity caused by low self esteem? Why do they have difficulty hiding their affairs?

Did you know that both of you must learn to change lifelong patterns and overcome the temptation, perpetually, to be in a cheating relationship? And for some men and women, cheating can even be hereditary.
