There are many reasons someone experiences hypersexuality. The term Sexual Dependency Syndrome (SDS) allows for all the possibilities, including sexual addiction. Sexual fantasies and desires are the erotic code underlying addiction. Week One - Sex Addiction - Is there such a thing, what it is, how to recognize it, and how to treat it -
Week Two – Going Inside Internet and Porn Addiction - chat rooms, web cams, paraphilias, fetishes,
Week three - Treating spouses and partners - disclosure, privacy vs secrecy, timing, healing, forgiveness, maintaining connection, erotic recovery
Week Four - Case Review - focus on three couples or individuals and their treatment.
Classes will include didactic material, experiential exercises, and clinical applications, as well as on phone, online and email conversations with presenters and participants.
Dr. Tammy Nelson is a Certified Sexologist, a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Imago Therapist and the author of Getting the Sex You Want: Shed Your Inhibitions and Reach New Heights of Passion Together, and lectures and trains internationally on sex and relationships.
Dr. Joe Kort, is a psychotherapist and Board Certified Sexologist who specializes in sexual identity issues, IMAGO relationship therapy, sex therapy and sexual addiction. He is the author of two books on gay male identity and relationships, Gay Affirmative Therapy for the Straight Clinician and has a chapter for female partners who are involved with men who have sex with men in Mending a Shattered Heart.
