(Lack of) Sales Shows Addyi is No Female Viagra

In the month and a half since Addyi hit the pharmacy shelves, just over 200 women have received a prescription. (source: thedailybeast.com) I can’t say with genuine honesty that I’m surprised. I am very glad to know that huge numbers of women across the nation aren’t being prescribed this dangerous drug. I’m sure the pharmaceutical company that worked so hard to bring their product to market are disappointed Addyi didn’t bring in the numbers that Viagra did.

Instead, I hope the criticism of this drug has inspired doctors and therapists to open dialog about female sexuality and how to improve a client’s sex life naturally through communication and experimentation.
