In recent research out of Brazil, Dr. Gustavo Requena found that male harvestmen spiders (aka Daddy longlegs) take on the responsibility of guarding their female’s eggs after copulation. Female Spiders like male single father spiders who care for their offspring.  Check out the article on NYTimes.com.
