Non-Monogamy has been enjoying the spotlight in recent years, thanks to more and more people willing to be open and publicly honest about their relationships. One type of “ethical non-monogamy” that has intrigued many since the 1950’s is swinging – having multiple sexual partners without long term emotional attachment.
Swinging used to be associated with middle-aged parents trying to liven up their boring sex life. Now Gen-X and the Millennials are changing that. Monogamy and marriage mean something very different to the younger generations, as Sandra LaMorgese points out in her feature on swinging for the Huffington Post: Swinging Is Back, But Is It Right For You?
She suggests to anyone interested in trying swinging for the first time: take it slow, communicate honestly, and don’t pressure your partner or accept your partner pressuring you. “Think of it as a new adventure, and keep an open mind.”
