KA(R)P Session
Ketamine Assisted Relational Psychotherapy
Service Description
Ketamine Assisted Relational Psychotherapy is a couples session where you and your partner meet to experience the therapy with the assistance of medicine and a trained therapist. The session can be 90 minutes to three hours, depending on the need and the dose of the medicine. You will each have a comfortable place to sit or lie down, and have the option of wearing eye shades. There will be background music playing and the therapist will be in the room at all times, taking notes, asking questions, and when needed, guiding you toward your identified goals for the session. After 20 minutes or so, you will remove your eye mask, sitting comfortably, and the remainder of the session will be about each of you processing your experience, together. The couples therapy may have a unique openness and you may feel a new connection to your partner with KA(R)P. You will also have journaling and art materials available for use. It is important that you do not drive after the medicine-assisted sessions, but arrange for a ride home.
