Infidelity Advice: Consider the Source

Therapist Dr. Joseph James reminds us to consider the advice of others, but rely on ourselves. Professionals can be helpful, but are not there to provide suggestions, which can prove frustrating. Friends often have plenty of advice, but their loving support might be more helpful than extreme advice. James suggests some techniques for dealing with the sleeplessness of infidelity. If you’re awake and restless at 2:00 a.m., get up, have some tea, do some cleaning or make a list. He says writing about the advantages and disadvantages of divorce can help the mind focus on a positive direction and provide clarity.
